Photography has always been a personal journey and a way to keep my sanity. These personal projects are a way for me to keep my creativity flowing and try to create something beautiful - for myself and for my family.
I purchased an inexpensive Dicapac DSLR waterproof camera bag in the Summer of 2016. It was the best purchase for my photography I had made in a long time!! Underwater photography opened up a whole new level of creativity. It turned out to be very hard, and so very unpredictable! I had to really let go of a lot of the control I usually have while shooting above water. I had to go back to some auto settings.. (YIKES!!) and shoot a lot of photos, and actually pull many of the photos into Photoshop for color correction. It was however, a blast! Downloading the pictures after a trip to the lake or the pool was like opening up a mystery box. The bubbles.. the movement, it's was almost like the photos were taken without gravity.
Parks. We spend a lot of time at parks. Running, laughing, playing, spinning, It's always a fun challenge to try and find new ways of photographing our trips to the park. Trying to capture the motion when they spin.. or the sunlight just behind them on the monkey bars. From young to old my kids always have a good time at the park.
So instagram. I have found that it is an amazing source for photography inspiration and encouragement. I have loved to 'meet' other photographers from around the world and follow along as they document their own photography journeys. Click for my latest posts!
